Havening
A Gentle, Grounded Approach to
Emotional Healing

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or carrying stress in your body?   I’m currently offering a limited number of free in-person Havening sessions as part of my supervised professional training.

Havening Techniques® is a gentle, neuroscience-informed approach designed to help calm the nervous system and reduce the emotional intensity linked to stressful or distressing experiences.

People may seek support for:

  • Anxiety and overwhelm

  • Chronic stress

  • Emotional triggers

  • Difficult past experiences

  • Excessive worry or overthinking

  • Sleep difficulties linked to stress

  • Low confidence or self-esteem

  • Feeling emotionally “stuck”

What a Session Feels Like

Sessions are gentle, respectful, and paced according to your comfort. Many people describe the process as calming, grounding, and supportive.

About Me

I am an experienced Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/Tapping) practitioner, with additional training in mindful, somatic approaches to trauma healing and nervous system regulation. I am currently integrating Havening into my work under professional supervision.

Free Volunteer Sessions

As part of this training, I’m offering a small number of free in-person sessions. With your consent, aspects of the work may be discussed anonymously with my supervisor for learning purposes. No identifying personal information would ever be shared.  Here's a great video by my supervisor explaining the science behind Havening and how it works

Curious?

If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch for a no-pressure conversation to see whether this approach feels like a good fit.

A havening session with me involves:

  • Discussion
We talk about what you’d like to achieve, what you’ve been experiencing, and what may be happening. You share only what you’re comfortable with — there’s no pressure to disclose anything.

  • Explanation and Consent
I explain exactly what we’ll do and answer any questions. I ask your consent at every stage before anything happens — including whether I apply the touch, or guide you to do it yourself.

  • The Havening Touch
I demonstrate the gentle stroking touch on the arms, hands, and face. You choose whether I apply it for you or whether you do it yourself guided by me — both are equally effective.

  • Havening Rounds
For a specific event, the touch is applied for 5–7 minutes per round, combined with simple distractions. When working with beliefs, or simply processing feelings, the havening touch continues for as long as needed.

  • Check In
After each round I check in with you. Does a memory feel less distressing? Has a belief shifted?  Has something new surfaced that needs attention? Many people are surprised how quickly things shift.

  • Repeat Until Clear
If working with a distressing memory, we continue rounds until the stress reaches zero. In other cases we work with what comes up – has a new memory surfaced? Do we need to process feelings? Work with a limiting belief?

  • Debrief
We take time to talk about what shifted, what you noticed, and how you feel. Processing can continue for a day or two after your session — this is completely normal and a positive sign.

  • Review and Next Steps
We review what was achieved and discuss whether further sessions would be helpful. Many people need only one to a few sessions to experience lasting, meaningful change.
