During this time of global concern about Coronavirus, tapping is an invaluable tool to help us manage our fears, anxieties, concerns and worries.  Keeping ourselves calm has the added benefit of helping to keep our immune system strong. The international community of EFT practitioners has rallied to create many online resources to help people cope with Covid19.  A good place to start is Gene Monterastelli's compilation of free tapping resources for responding to Covid-19.

- Hypnotherapy - clinical hypnotherapist and coach Kymberley Carter-Paige has created a free hypnotherapy recording to help you stay calm during this time. You can contact her through her website to get a recording, or contact me and I can forward one to you.

- Ask and Receive - this video by Sandi Radomski uses the positive statements of her Ask and Receive format to calm us down, remind our bodies that our immune systems know how to fight infection, and to create the right amount of inflammation to clear the disease without going into over-reaction

Advice from health authorities is to avoid touching your face, which is where many of the commonly used tapping points are located.  What to do? Obviously, always remember to wash your hands thoroughly before you start tapping, and after finishing.  In fact, washing your hands is an excellent opportunity to get in a bit of EFT - check out this video by Nancy Forrester on the EFT handwash, and scroll down for a short video I made of my own version of just the hand washing bit so you can play it while you are washing your hands. Luckily there are also a couple of ways around the problem of avoiding touching your face:

  • Use the points that are not on the face - the collarbone points, underarm point, wrist points and fingerpoints - if you are uncertain about how to tap on the fingerpoints have a look at my  video on fingerpoint tapping. You could also use the top-of-head point if you feel this is far enough away from your face.

  • Wrap a clean tissue around your fingers before you start tapping.

I don't want you to feel alone, unsupported and unable to cope during this difficult time, and I do not want your inability to pay to inhibit you from seeking help.  You can choose to pay for the session as you feel you have benefitted, and as you have the capacity, whether it be nothing, monetary or in some other form and/or sometime later.
